Tips

Don't start from scratch, if you intend to write a new article. Just copy the content of GlossaryWiki:Sample Page and modify it accordingly.

By means of the following commands you can directly refer to articles of FHAWiki, Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org) and GlossarWiki:

  • [[FHAWiki:document title]] bzw. [[FHAWiki:document title|text to be displayed]]
  • [[Wikipedia:document name]] bzw. [[Wikipedia:document name|text to be displayed]]
  • [[GlossarWiki:document name]] bzw. [[GlossarWiki:document name|text to be displayed]]

Please read the Help document before you start creating or modifying documents.

The purpose of this Wiki is to define technical terms, which are used in lectures, reports, and theses made available at the Fachhochschule Augsburg (FHA), in a uniform and citable manner. Students and staff members can cite those definitions within their papers and theses.

In contrast to Wikipedia it ist possible to give several definitions for one and the same term. Often two researchers do not agree on the definition of a specific term. In such a case, a definition should be signed with the names of the different authors.

Due to the goal of the Fachhochschule Augsburg to [enforce international orientation] there are two Glossary Wikis: GlossarWiki, for German-speaking people, and GlossaryWiki for the others. The main goal is to define every term within both GlossarWiki and GlossaryWiki.

There is another Wiki provided by the Computer Science Department of the FHA: wiki.fh-augsburg.de. This Wiki contains information about FHA matters of all sorts, which is written in German, however.
